Introduction to Throwing
Description & Details
Who is this course for?
This class is for students with little to no experience throwing on the wheel. Students will learn the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel during this session.

Skills that we will focus on will be wedging, centering, pulling a cylinder, and turning footed forms. Cylinders are a form that can be coaxed into a variety of functional shapes like bowls or vases. Once you have advanced, we will focus on more complex forms and larger sizes.

Basic glazing techniques will also be introduced, along with some basic slip and underglaze design.

If you already know how to use the pottery wheel and would like to expand this experience, why not try our Open-Access Membership Scheme or Drop-in Sessions?
