Art for Mental Health

Description & Details

Who is this programme for?

This programme is primarily aimed at people who have a clinical diagnosis of a mental health condition like depression or anxiety. We focus on those who are isolated and find it difficult to access mainstream activities and education services, or find these do not cater to their needs. We provide a safe space in which participants can develop and explore their creativity within a supportive and welcoming environment.

We invite members of this group to practice art as a part of our community. We encourage and assist all our members to develop personal projects in line with their own interests, using a range of materials like ceramics, paints, textiles and mixed media.

We also run regularly structured workshops that focus on learning a specific technique or artistic practice or have trips to museums, galleries and exhibitions. We are always looking for new places to go, and encourage our members to suggest things that they would like to see but might not feel comfortable going to alone.

This programme is designed and led by a qualified and registered Art Therapist with over 8 years' experience. If you would like to read more about her experience, please click here
