Who is this Programme for?

Our Open Studio Sessions are ideal for those who want to try ceramics; to come with friends or family; or for those with experience who want more time to practice and refine their skills while working on personal projects.

You do not need experience to access Open Studio. We will take you through different handbuilding techniques so that you can gain proficiency and the necessary skills to make whatever you can think of!

 

Please note that we do not offer teaching on the pottery wheel during these sessions. Throwing is a challenging skill which requires commitment and dedicated teaching.  If you would like to learn how to use the pottery wheel, please sign up forThrowing Classes with us.

However, if you have experience throwing, you can book a wheel and continue developing your skills while having access to everything you need.

How does it work?

Booking a spot during Open Studio sessions gives you access to our studio space and all the equipment and materials we have.

​

All you have to do is book a space via our booking system for the time and date that works best for you. ​Advance booking is essential (you can book up to 4hrs beforehand). A wheel and/or work surface at the table will be available, unless already booked.

​

Each session lasts 2 hours, although you can book up to 4 hours total if the timetable allows it. 

 

We ask that all the equipment and tools must be clean by the end of the session for the next users.

Mondays from 4:30pm - 8:30pm

Wednesdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Thursdays from 10:30am - 12:30am

Saturdays from 11am - 2pm when there are no special workshops.

Our Open Studio model runs continuously from September 15th - August 8th​​​

Cost

These sessions are purchased in vouchers and time will be deducted every time you book a session online. 

​

Vouchers​

1 session = 30€

4 sessions = 88€

8 sessions = 176€ 

12 sessions = 264€ (a semester worth of classes!)

 

All vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. You can reschedule or cancel your session 8 hours before the class) After this deadline, you will be charged whether you can attend or not. There are no reimbursements for payment plans.

The price includes materials, use of tools and all the necessary equipment. However, there is a limit of 2 kilograms of PRAI clay for 2 hours of studio use. Speciality clays or larger quantities are charged at a surplus (speak to staff for more details).

 

Please note: we use high-fire clay and home-made glazes. A true ceramic experience!

*It is necessary to bring appropriate clothing to work in the workshop – an apron or something similar.

** We reserve the right to cancel a group if the minimum number of students has not been reached.
