Hello. My name is Evelyn and I am a Spanish/Canadian ceramicist/artist, art therapist and cultural producer based in Bilbao.

Konect Arts was born out of my professional and personal experience. Eight years ago I rekindled my passion for working with clay when I joined a community pottery studio in London, UK. Being part of this community allowed me to not only experiment and create new work, but also to meet new people and connect with people and places in my neighbourhood. 

 

After this experience, I retrained as an art therapist by completing a Masters in Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmith's University of London. This allowed me to gain experience and knowledge around the intersection of art and health. Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of health, social and educational settings, including running the Ceramics Department at the Bethlem Royal Hospital in London. The power of art to connect and empower people in a gentle and accessible way has become evident to me and I believe that participation in the arts can have a transformative impact on individuals and communities. Making, sharing and enjoying art is the foundation of the cultural life of every society. Creating spaces where people can discover, process, understand and share experiences through self-expression is connecting, healing and inspiring.
