Who is this course for?

Anyone interested in ceramics and a language exchange between English and Spanish. This course is taught in English and will be suitable for people with a level of B2+ (First Certificate). It is intended to be a fun and accessible way to be creative while practising or improving language use.

 

Sessions will be facilitated by an artist and former English teacher with 18 years' experience. 

 

All levels of ceramics experience are welcome. During sessions 1 to 4, students will be guided through a series of exercises, which will introduce and give opportunities to practice different hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, slab building, using moulds, and mixed techniques. There will be no throwing introductions on this course. If you are interested in throwing, try our Throwing Classes. 

 

In session 5, there will be an introduction to glazes and surface decoration (engobes, glazes, and textures). From sessions 5 to 12, you will have time to work on your own projects and ask specific questions related to your development.

Classes take place every Tuesday from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

Cost

 

12-week course = 255€/term 

Paid in three monthly instalments of 85€.

 

The price includes materials, use of tools and equipment necessary for the development of the course. Please note: we use high-fire clay and home-made glazes. A true ceramic experience!

We have specialty clays available at an additional cost. 

 

*It is necessary to bring appropriate clothing to work in the workshop - an apron or something similar.
